Dear *|FIRSTNAME|*,

This week we have a prayer from Dave Tomlinson, who led an inspiring church community day at Bossey back in February 2020 – just before the pandemic took hold. His prayer encourages us to meet God in the reality of today rather than in what we wish today could be.

God of the rolling hillsides,
God of calm waters and fluffy clouds.
God, too, of crowded high streets,
Of packed tubes and buses.

God of tedious daily routine,
Of disappointment and despair
But also, of excitement,
Promise, and possibility:

We open ourselves to the prospect
of another week (or weekend!),
to the lifeforce
present in each moment,
to the undiscovered treasures of our own soulfulness.

May we walk this world,
Meeting each day, each person,
Each encounter for what it is
And not what we would wish it to be. Amen.

Carolyn

PRODUCE TO GIVE AWAY As is our custom, if you can, please bring a bag of non-perishable provisions to pass on to those who have much less than us. Please ensure that they are in-date, un-opened and preferably small portions and tins which people living alone can use. No alcohol please.

DECORATING THE CHURCH – we would welcome volunteers to help decorate the church. This is a creative and fun activity. If you would like to be involved, please let Carolyn or Peta know. Also – your own garden produce or flowers are welcome - to bring and display on the Sunday and then take away again.

A PICNIC AFTER THE SERVICE – You are welcome to bring a picnic which we can eat together after our Harvest service. This is a chance to continue our harvest celebration with one another and to get to know new faces. We hope you can join us. Please also note that Covid measures will be in place – respecting social distancing, using hand sanitiser and proper wearing of masks when we are moving about.

From your safeguarding team

As the Rentrèe 2021 approaches we look forward to worshipping together again. Our volunteers will take up or renew their roles to maintain our vibrant church activities. We thought it timely to remind you about our role as safeguarding officers in promoting and working towards keeping our church a safe place where our congregation can feel secure and cared for. Safeguarding is an integral part of the wellbeing of our Church community. We are here not only to work through the formalities of short training or administrative safeguarding checks with you but to support you in strict confidentiality if concerns relative to abuse arise. You can count on our understanding and goodwill in all things safeguarding.
