Dear *|FIRSTNAME|*,

Welcome back once again. I hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us for worship in-person this coming Sunday 29 September. If you are new and reading this, do come along to either Divonne or Gingins. Please send your name and email address to Liz Bramley, as we are registering people due to Covid.

You will have received a first bulletin message sent out today about resuming our in-person worship this coming Sunday 29 August. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE READ THIS. PLEASE REGISTER WITH LIZ BRAMLEY TO JOIN US IN WORSHIP in DIVONNE at 10.00 AND in GINGINS at 16.00

This second bulletin message to our community focuses on news and activities coming up.

Firstly, here is an inspiring Diocesan prayer written by Dr Clare Amos, to set our compass towards God as we go on our journey with Christ and with one another at the beginning of this autumn term.

Jesus our Way, Lord of the journey:
surprising stranger of the Emmaus Road,
guide to the spacious welcome of your Father’s home,
companion both of our sorrows and our joys,
we thank you for these lands in which we are both guests and hosts.

Walk together with us,
enabling us to be true signs of your presence.
Stretch our hearts and minds and spirits.
Open our eyes and set our hearts on fire with love for you,
to share with you in transfiguring this cherished world,
for your honour and glory. Amen.

Carolyn

Upcoming services

From next Sunday we will be starting an amended pattern of worship at La Côte Church – gathering every Sunday for a 10.00am service. This will take place in different churches, either in Divonne or Crassier or Gingins, depending which one is available. All the information is on our website.

Next Sunday 5th September - we will be meeting in Crassier and will be offering Sunday club for our children. There will be no service in the afternoon on 5th Sept.

Our worship for the month of September will include liturgies and prayers for the cherishing of God’s creation.  We hope to share drinks in a safe and simple way after the service so we can reconnect and welcome newcomers.

Worship on Sunday 19 September at 10.00: an ecumencial service in Bonmont Abbey, instead of our own La Côte Church gathering

We will be taking part in a joint worship service with many other churches in the area, and welcoming the students from the Bossey Ecumenical institute. This service marks the “Jeûne Fédéral”, an annual day which traditionally called on the Swiss people to fast and pray for the welfare of the nation. I encourage our La Côte Church community to join us at the Abbaye de Bonmont for this act of worship which this year will have a Celtic flavour. It will have a blend of three languages: French, German and English. We are also preparing a bi-lingual Sunday club session just outside the Abbey, under canvas - weather permitting! See flyer for further details.

Safeguarding is increasingly important in a virtual world

The safeguarding team:

-Is there when someone suspects or has observed abuse or is a victim.

-Is there if someone feels uncomfortable about a relationship or situation themselves

-Does not judge, can flag up help and is discreet.

Covid lock downs and confinements 2020 have resulted in an increase of abuse in the home, if you have concerns don't hesitate to get in touch: safeguarding@lacotechurch.ch and check our page on the website
