Looking towards our Gift Day on 11 June, today we hear from Trevor Davies and members of the Tuesday Bible study group.  La Côte Anglican Church provides a variety of groups to enable us to sustain and deepen our Christian faith. The Bible Study group may put one off at first as to the relevancy of such a group but at a recent meeting the group shared their views about what they thought about it.
All were unanimous in stating that it was a place where we could learn from each other and share our views and even disagree about faith matters and the relevance of the Bible in daily living. The Bible is the basis of our beliefs and we explore its meaning with the aid of study materials. All found the group to be welcoming, warm and trustworthy which leads to an intimacy of sharing. Members share the problems they may face in opening their lives to each other and praying over issues. A place where at least once a week we can focus on the principles contained in the Bible and how it affects our lives in a challenging world.
It enables us to face up to the challenges of modern society of inequality and lack of justice in practical ways. Members thought it a great help to understand what faith in the Christian life means in reality as we prepare for the life to come. In short they recommend all to join small groups to enable a richer and meaningful life. Why not join a group or create one if you wish !
