Dear *|FIRSTNAME|*,

There is no bulletin as such this week, as Carolyn is on leave. Instead, here is a quick reminder of our upcoming services, and in particular a special service of Morning Prayer this Sunday led by Alan and Clare Amos looking at a 'rule of life'. I hope you will be able to join us on zoom.

God bless,

Louise

RIP Jim Sharp

We were very sad to hear of the death of Revd Jim Sharp recently.  The funeral service will be held at St Georges Crematorium, Geneva, on Wednesday 25 August at 14h.

Jim was ordained as a pastor in the Church of Scotland.  He was very well known to and much loved by members of Holy Trinity and La Côte churches who have attended Cursillo weekends.

Services in August and beyond

Next Sunday we will be worshipping in person at 10am in Divonne and 4pm in Gingins. For the following Sundays, see below or click here for a larger version on the website.

Children and Youth

Our children and youth are one of our three key priorities at La Côte Church. Take a moment to recall all the children and young people you have known who have shared in the journey of faith here at La Côte Church. It is a privilege and a responsibility to be involved in their lives. So here are two initiatives for our whole community to think about and to pray for.

1. NEW SUNDAY CLUB LEADERS

As we say goodbye to both Emily, our youth worker and Jane Robinson, a key Sunday club leader, we would like to encourage some new volunteers to step up and help lead and support our children in their faith. You do not need a degree in theology or teaching! We have a good structure and easy to follow resources. There will be plenty of support on hand too. By God’s grace, we all have something to give and the key to leading Sunday club is to be open to learn together with our children and youth.

Please be in touch with Elizabeth Martinez or Naomi Grobety if you would like to know more – or Carolyn Cooke, at the end of August.

2. A YOUTHWORKER FOR LA CÔTE CHURCH

We are looking for a new Youth Worker for our young people and older children at La Côte Church. Please find attached the job description and advert looking for someone who is a practicing Christian, who values coming alongside young people and who has the necessary skills and specifications. Please help us find the right person through your prayers and through sharing the advert with those in your circles. Click here.

Safeguarding is increasingly important in a virtual world

The safeguarding team:

-Is there when someone suspects or has observed abuse or is a victim.

-Is there if someone feels uncomfortable about a relationship or situation themselves

-Does not judge, can flag up help and is discreet.

Covid lock downs and confinements 2020 have resulted in an increase of abuse in the home, if you have concerns don't hesitate to get in touch: safeguarding@lacotechurch.ch and check our page on the website
